80mm HD Memory Foam — 10mm More Than the Standard

The Standard's 70mm is already 20mm more than budget RTTs. The Pro's 80mm is the ceiling of this range. After consecutive nights on corrugated roads — the Gibb, Cape York, the Oodnadatta — 80mm is noticeably different for hip and shoulder pressure. Memory foam recovers overnight. More of it recovers more. If you do 20+ nights a year, this is the version you want under you.

Stargazing Mesh Roof Panel — Full Sky View, Zero Bugs

Full-length mesh panel in the roof canvas. Zip it open and you're looking straight up — insect-screened, cross-ventilated. Outback nights, Milky Way overhead, campfire smell coming through the mesh. This is the feature you use the first night and talk about for years. Darche Ridgeback doesn't have it at this price. The Pro does.

Reinforced Hinge Arms — Built for High Cycle Use

Heavier gauge bracket. The Standard's are solid for regular use. The Pro's are built for people who open and close the tent several times a week across multi-week remote trips. Same 60-second operation at year three as day one. If you're doing back-to-back remote trips, this is what you want holding the shell open on a windy ridge.

Anti-Condensation Mat — In the Box, Not an Add-On

12mm breathable mesh mat. Air gap between foam and shell so body heat escapes rather than condensing overnight. Kings charges $70–80 separately. Darche charges $80. Both Summit Seeker tents include it. The Pro doesn't ask you to spend more to make it liveable.

Mounting — What's Involved

Mount to rack — two people, ~45 minutes

T-slot clamps suit Rhino-Rack, Thule and ARB bars. Round/square bar adaptors included. 10mm ratchet + torque wrench at 35Nm on mount bolts. No drilling, no permanent modification.

Solar — 5 minutes, no wiring

Anderson plug is factory-wired. Route panel cable through the port, clip in. No splicing. 250W panel connects directly.

First open — under 60 seconds

Unclip latches. Gas struts lift. Unfold and lock ladder. Bedding inside from factory. Pack down — doona stays in, latch, drive.

Pro or Standard — how do I decide?

20+ nights a year: Pro. The foam difference is real after back-to-back corrugated days, and reinforced hinges matter if you're opening and closing it daily for weeks. Under 10 nights: Standard — same anti-con mat, same Anderson, same warranty, $200 less. Both ship same week.

Does the stargazing panel let bugs in?

No — full insect-screened mesh. Zip it open for clear sky view and airflow. Works with cross-flow vents on both sides for full through-ventilation in hot weather.

Will bolts rattle loose on corrugations?

No. Every fastener is Nyloc-rated — locks under vibration. Re-torquing every trip is the #2 complaint from Australian RTT owners with standard hardware. Check mount bolts at 35Nm before long remote trips as standard practice.

Does bedding fit inside when packed?

Yes. Internal clearance fits doona and pillows inside. 60-second pack-down. Same as the Standard.

How does residential freight work?
